Phala Network collaborates with Bluzelle to enhance Data Storage and privacy
The Bluzelle-Polkadot week progresses and Phala Network has been chosen as the second Polkadot-based project to partner with Bluzelle.
Phala Network has reached partnership with Bluzelle. Being a project focused on data privacy preserving protocol, they have integrated Bluzelle decentralized database as of of the off-chain data storage solutions for their main product, Web3 Analytics which is the winner of Web3 Foundation Grant.
Many cases of data security incident has been recorded, a lot of users' accounts get illegally accessed. Users data and footprints get collected and stored in a centralized server everytime they browse the web or a mobile app, users have to accept these sites' privacy agreement to be granted permission to use their service. This is becoming a major issue as people keep losing control of their data and to some extent their identity. Phala Network aims to offer solutions to this dilemma by providing confidential computation and data protection service for individuals and businesses. The product of Phala’s flagship is Web3 Analytics(W3A), a Web3 alternative of Google Analytics, which returns data ownership back to the users. It gathers all the mobile and web app data from the users and stores them only in their personal data warehouse. Leaving users with the choice of sharing, lending, monetizing or even revoking other’s access at anytime. Developers are able to carry out analytics approved by data owners through W3A’s smart contract without having their privacy breached.
This is similar to Bluzelle's mission of protecting data privacy and security. Both teams play vital role in the advancement and adoption of Web 3.0.
Bluzelle is a Decentralized data network which enables blockchains and DApps to manage their data in a secure, tamper-proof and highly scalable manner. Bluzelle is powered by Cosmos and it's BFT technology Tendermint and is designed such that it is interopable for every Blockchain.
By partnering with Phala Network, Bluzelle will provide them with the following benefits;
Decentralization: Bluzelle will facilitate Phala’s tech stack in achieving complete decentralization. Bluzelle’s database is operated by. thousands of community nodes which are decentralized. Hence, every user on W3A can own a data wallet in the Bluzelle database.
Security: Bluzelle’s consensus engine prevent otgers from accessing stored data, only data owners are given permission to access and update their data.
Scalability: A lot of data is being collected from apps by W3A and this keeps increasing as number of users and on-chain activities rises. Addition of capacity on the Bluzelle network is quite easy by increasing the number of nodes while it is complicated and resource-consuming to scale with traditional database.
High Reliability: Bluzelle database provides multiple application across diverse nodes. This is capable of eliminating any single point of failure. Hence, retrieval of data for W3A will be made available at all times.
The CEO of Phala Network, Marvin, siad that as a protocol providing solutions to privacy-preserving issues of blockchains and internet databases, they hope to revolutionize the traditional pattern of storage and replace it with a decentralized way. He added that, cooperating with Bluzelle, a famous and mature decentralized storage protocol, they believe Polkadot’s ecosystem will be empowered with Improved ability on decentralized computing and storage.
Pavel Bians, CEO of Bluzelle said the consumer works is now waking up to the data privacy issues they are facing, they are becoming more dis-trustful of companies. He added that as DeFi has broken out as the first major use case for blockchain, data privacy is next. He concluded by saying Phala has found a specific space within the Polkadot ecosystem and by working together, both teams can bring better privacy with Polkadot and outside it.
